Compact Between Home and School
 
Glenwood Elementary School will:
 ∙     Provide high-quality curriculum and instruction in a supportive and effective learning environment that enables the participating children to meet the State's student academic standards. Teachers are provided with a pacing guide linked with time sensitive standards. Teachers vertically collaborate with curriculum mapping to enhance their teaching strategies.
∙     Hold parent-teacher conferences. Conference dates are scheduled throughout the year from 3:15-5:15, check those dates each year on the calendar provided by the county. Teachers are available to meet with parents when convenient for both parties on a regular basis.
∙     Provide parents with frequent reports on their children's progress. Glenwood folders are sent home on a weekly basis by grades K-2 and assignment books go home on a daily basis with parent/teacher communication available when necessary in grades 3-5. Report cards go home each nine weeks, as well as interim reports. Newsletters and calendars are sent home on a monthly basis.
∙     Provide parents reasonable access to staff. Teachers are available daily during their planning, as well as after school when convenient.
∙     Provide parents opportunities to volunteer and participate in their child's class, and to observe classroom activities.  Parents have the opportunity to volunteer on a monthly basis with Glenwood's Student Association, GSA. Parents can schedule to volunteer in their child's classroom.
We promise to work together for the success of  in his/her school experience. In return we ask the following.
We as parents will support our children's learning in the following ways:
∙   Monitor and encourage school attendance
∙   Support my child's learning at home, including monitoring homework.
   Monitor electronic media
   Represent my child, when possible, at school functions and school policy advisory groups.
∙   Participate, as appropriate, in decisions relating to the education of my child.
∙   Communicate with my child's teacher.
Student's Responsibility:
  • Ask for help on my assignments when I need it at school and home
  • Complete my assignments and turn them in on time
  • Display respectful behaviors that will help me learn
  • Always do my best
  • Discuss my school day and give school information to my parents.
 I have reviewed the Compact between Home and School and have discussed it with my child.  You will be required to check this box during online registration each school year.  
                                     
Please review this School-Parent-Child Compact with your child. This compact may be discussed with you during a parent-teacher conference as it relates to your child's school progress.
